Spend some special, creative evenings making your own pottery in a welcoming group. Unwind after a busy day and enjoy learning different hand-building processes such as pinch, coil and slab building using a variety of clays and glazes. There are also pottery wheels to try. Projects and themes will be suggested by the tutor but your own ideas about what you’d like to make are welcome. Fee includes core materials and firing. Tutor – Isobel Morris
Subjects: Pottery, Sculpture, Soapstone Carving, Pastels
Creative from my youth, pottery/sculpture making is a lasting passion, first experienced as a teenager at evening classes.
Painting and drawing, especially pastels, is another favourite and I am also a keen photographer.
Following volunteering, a Sociology degree, co-founding a co-operative restaurant and teacher training, I taught English to travelling children and adults in a mobile school.
After spending some time living in Germany, I returned to Bristol and studied Sculpture and Drawing. Alongside tutoring, I run school, museum and event workshops and exhibit artwork.
I relish the joys of teaching; enabling people of all backgrounds, ages and abilities to enjoy their creativity and make progress is central to my approach.
