Burgundy and Bordeaux – Two of the most famous names among the wine areas of France. Yet, many wine lovers simply ignore them, thinking that they’re just too expensive or they prefer something from California or Australia. Are they missing something or are these wines simply living in the past? In this one day course suitable for all abilities, we’ll explore these, and some of the other classic areas of France, and see whether you can find attractive wines that, although not the cheapest around, are still affordable and genuinely worth the money. The cost of the wines tasted (max £15 per person, payable to the tutor on the day) will be shared.
Please bring a packed lunch.

Tutor – Ian Abrahams
I started my wine career taking visitors round Harvey’s wine museum in Bristol where I also studied for and passed the Wines and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) Diploma, a high level professional qualification.
I now work as a freelance Wine Educator, certified by WSET to run their courses which are aimed at professionals starting out in the wine industry.
But, you don’t have to be a professional – or even have any expertise – to enjoy one of my courses as I love to run wine evenings and courses for local organisations, groups and individuals where my aim is to make learning about wine approachable, free from jargon and fun.
I also write a regular wine blog, Bristol Wine Blog, which can be found at www.winetalksandtastings.wordpress.com
