Tutor – Annelies Egli

anneSubjects: Textiles

I trained as an artist studying sculpture here in Bristol in the late eighties.  I have always had an interest in the creative potential of textiles, from the humble traditional crafts such as spinning , crochet and weaving, to contemporary art practise exploring textiles in the widest sense.

I like teaching at all levels and  find my reward in the individual’s progress, achievement  and enjoyment. I encourage students to experiment and explore, to learn from each other and work independently. I love the diversity of work that tends to  result from my courses. It is my belief that exploring this creative desire and spectrum within ourselves enhances our lives immeasurably.

I  have exhibited my own work regularly and widely for many years and have worked with very diverse groups of people of all ages  (www.anneliesegli.com). Currently I look forward to being an artist in residence in Wales before resuming my duties in Bristol in October.
