Subject: Linocut and Watercolour Painting
I am a Somerset based artist and teacher. Since completing my BA Hons in Fine Art At Middlesex University in 2005, I have worked as a practicing artist, exhibiting my paintings and original prints on a regular basis. Previous exhibitions include the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, the Society of Women Artists, The Royal Society of Painter Printmakers and the Royal Watercolour Society.
I have previously taught workshops at Spike Print Studio, Bristol, Albatross Print Studio, Watchet and at the Affordable Art Fair, Battersea.
I have also made several appearances as an artist on television – including reaching the semi-final of Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2018, as well as being a mentor and judge on Channel 5s Watercolour Challenge (2022).
I believe that progressing as an artist involves paying due attention to the fundamentals of picture making – composition, tone, colour and mark-making – but that building confidence as an artist is also just as important. Therefore, in all my workshops I place heavy emphasis on unearthing the particular interests and inspirations of each individual artist, to help forge a path through artistic development.
