Elise Tingle
Subject: Italian and Spanish

“Ciao and Hola! I’m Elise. Originally from Sheffield, I have lived in Bristol for eight years and feel like an adopted Bristolian. I studied Italian and Spanish at the University of Manchester and received my PGCE in 2016, spending the last 15 years of my career as a private language tutor and Deputy Head of Languages. Living and working in both Rieti, in the Lazio region of Italy and Valencia in the East of Spain, has given me a deep love of Italian and Spanish culture. On a Sunday you will often find me in the kitchen making my own pasta whilst listening to the music of Rosalía.
I have a huge passion for teaching – watching my students become more confident and discover their own abilities provides me with a lot of joy. I have worked with both adults and children over my career, and I find that the best way for us all to learn is in a calm, friendly atmosphere where questions are encouraged. In my lessons, we will use games and paired activities alongside more traditional grammar and dictation work to keep the learning accessible. Whether you are learning for fun, travel or work, I can’t wait to welcome you to my language classes – a presto y hasta luego!”
