Valentina Cavallini

Subject: Italian.

I am originally from Milan, where I studied Modern Languages and Literatures at the Universita’ Statale before moving to the UK in 1999.

My mother was a linguist and a writer, and from her I inherited a fascination with words and with how language works. I have studied many languages, including Latin, Arabic, Russian and Ancient Greek, as well as other modern European languages.

Over the past 23 years I have taught Italian in a variety of settings to both children and adults, from beginners to conversational level.
As well as an Italian tutor, I am an associate lecturer on the Illustration BA at UWE.

My personal interests include art, literature, hiking and yoga.

I have trained in group facilitation and I feel strongly about promoting full participation and ensuring each voice in the class is heard.
Since becoming a mum in 2018 I took a break from teaching groups and focused on one-to-one tutoring. I am now delighted to be able to teach groups again.
