A great way to meet people, learn at your own pace, and do something completely different. I loved it!
The tutor made everyone feel comfortable. It was a very supportive environment and I’ve already signed up for the next level.
Such a rewarding experience. I felt genuinely proud of my progress each week and I am now more confident.

Meet Anthony Case Study: Real Learners, Real Progress
Meet our Italian Learner, Anthony. After retirement, Anthony decided to take up Italian as a way to stay active and prepare for travel:
I’m doing Spanish because although I had done it in the past, I wanted to improve my ability to speak the language and be able to converse in Spanish while on holiday. My Spanish has improved a lot, I’ve made friends and found out about a lot of other interesting things going on in Bristol.
Something that is very important to me is being in a group. My speaking has improved hugely from talking with others. It helped me prepare to travel and given me confidence in conversing with members of the Hispanic community in Bristol. I regularly have a little chat in Spanish to the barista in my local coffee shop – I’m sure I still get things wrong! but he humours me, and its become a bit of a routine for us.
Occasionally, I use Duolingo for practice, but there is nothing like having a Spanish speaking tutor, as I learn so much about the culture and the country as well as. I’m also taking a course looking at Spanish films and I really enjoy being introduced to films and directors I may not otherwise have discovered.
