NEW Get By in Italian

Learn some basic ‘survival’ Italian for your next visit to Italy, whether for holiday, visits to friends and family, business or cultural visits.  Topics may include: greetings and introductions, numbers, finding your way around, booking accommodation, visiting places of interest, shopping, travelling around, eating out, asking and answering questions, having a simple social conversation.  Please note that this course is for total beginners.

Italian Level 1 A, Part 2     Complete Beginners continuation

NEW  La storia d’Italia

Un breve corso dedicato alla storia d’Italia. Inizieremo dall’antica Roma con gli Etruschi. Passeremo poi dal Medioevo al Rinascimento. Il Risorgimento e il Regno d’Italia. Finiremo con la Prima e Seconda Guerra Mondiale in Italia. Gli studenti devono avere un buon livello di italiano.

Italian Cookery

Italian cookery:  Arancini

Arancini are Italian rice balls that are stuffed with a savoury filling, coated with breadcrumbs and deep fried. The most common arancini fillings are: al ragù or al sugo, filled with ragù, mozzarella or caciocavallo cheese, and al burro, filled with ham and mozzarella or bechamel sauce. A number of regional variants exist, differing in their fillings and shape. Arancini al ragù from eastern Sicily have a conical shape, inspired by the volcano Etna.

Please bring containers to take your dishes home.

From the best pizza dough to secret techniques for making pizza, you will learn how to knead and roll out the perfect and traditional pizza. We will also make Tiramisù, one of the most famous Italian desserts. Please bring containers to take your dishes home.
