Get a flavour of German in this 6 week course. Learn some useful phrases that you can use when visiting any German speaking country. An excellent introduction for complete beginners, who will be introduced to a range vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation, providing them with basic knowledge of the language.

Dieser Kurs ist für Teilnehmer, die schon sehr gute Deutschkenntnisse besitzen.  Im Kurs sprechen wir über aktuelle Tagesthemen aus den Bereichen Politik, Wirtschaft, Soziales, Kunst und Kultur in den deutschsprachigen Ländern Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz.  Wir beschäftigen uns in diesem Kurs gelegentlich auch mit deutscher Geschichte  und / oder deutscher Literatur.

Austrian Day:  Advent und Weihnachten im Alpenraum 

In diesem Kurs werden wir verschiedene Bräuche und Traditionen in der Zeit vor und um Weihnachten besprechen, die typisch für den Alpenraum sind. Vom heidnischen Räuchern bis zum katholischen Christkind; von der besinnlichen Adventzeit bis zum lauten Silvester – für jeden Geschmack ist etwas dabei!   Gute Deutschkenntnisse sind erforderlich für diesen Kurs.

Austrian Day:  Wien um die Jahrhundertwende 

Vor dem Ersten Weltkrieg und dem daran anschließenden Zerfall der Habsburgermonarchie kommt es zu einer bedeutenden Blütezeit in der Architektur, Musik, Malerei, Philosophie  und Literatur.  Das künstlerische Schaffen bündelte sich in den der Wiener Secession und der Wiener Werkstätte. Die drei herausragendsten und international bekannten Maler der Wiener Moderne sind Gustav Klimt, Oskar Kokoschka und Egon Schiele.  Die Architektur wird von Otto Wagner und Adolf Loos geprägt. Das Wien um die Jahrhundertwende ist die Zeit der ‚Wiener Moderne‘, von etwa 1890 bis 1910, hat 1900 über 2 Millionen Einwohner und ist ein Schmelztiegel der mitteleuropäischen Kulturen.  Gute Deutschkenntnisse sind erforderlich für diesen Kurs.
