Some courses will run as online courses and some will start at Stoke Lodge . You can see the starting venue/format for each course listed below. We reserve the right to change the format of the course, in term, should safety advice change.
Contemporary Hispanic Literature and Film 1 – held in English
This course will explore representative twentieth and twenty-first-century texts and films from Hispanic America and Spain. We may discuss authors and directors such as Javier Marias, Vila-Matas, Fernando Aramburu, Martinez de Pison, Iciar Bollain, Isabel Coixet or Luis Bunuel.

NEW Writers and Politics in France (18th-20th century) – held in English
From the 18th century, French writers were often involved in the politics of their time. This course will explore the intricate links between the literary and politic world, and how, at times, these talented voices changed the destiny of their country.

NEW New York: Modernity & the City
In this course we will examine how New York City is represented in John Dos Passos’ Manhattan Transfer and Colum McCann’s Let the Great World Spin. These two novels will be an opportunity to reflect on urban life and human relationships.
