Some courses will run as online courses and some will start at Stoke Lodge .  You can see the starting venue/format for each course listed below. We reserve the right to change the format of the course, in term, should safety advice change.


NEW Writing From Art: Poetry Inspired By Works Of Art 

A creative writing course that celebrates the rich relationship between art and poetry. You will write your own poems directly inspired by works of art or drawn from themes in the artwork, giving voice to your personal expression of human experience. There will be discussion on technique and experimentation, and some background on the chosen artists will be given. This course will be delivered online using ZOOM.

Contemporary Hispanic Literature and Film   –  held in English

This course will explore representative twentieth and twenty-first-century texts and films from Hispanic America and Spain.

French Literature and Politics

NEW  Writers and Politics in France (18th-20th century)  –  held in English                                                                                                                                                                      

From the 18th century, French writers were often involved in the politics of their time. This course will explore the intricate links between the literary and politic world, and how, at times, these talented voices changed the destiny of their country.
