There is so much variety across our embroidery and crochet courses and workshops!

For beginners you can learn to crochet with us, learning basic stitches, how to choose yarn and understand patterns. once you are ‘hooked’ you can join session to crochet hats, scarfs and mittens, items for the home or even a jumper.

Some Embroidery courses focus on hand stitching techniques and some focus on machine embroidery. Exploring patching and mending, embroidery and print, botanical images and making personalised presents among many other projects.

Learn How To Crochet-Beginners (T71A)

Description: Are you looking to learn a new craft? This course is for you! It is a fun introduction to crochet with a different project every week. The course will cover the basic stitches, how to choose yarn, finish projects, read patterns, etc.

Freemotion Machine Embroidery-Watercolour Pictures (T70A)

Description: Explore drawing and painting on fabric with Inktense watercolour pencils followed by freemotion machine stitching. Stitch first, then colour in; or paint first then stitch on top. We will try both! Tutor will provide templates if you are a nervous sketcher.

Description: Botanical printing is used to create delicate images of leaves and flowers onto fabric. Using foliage from Stoke Lodge and some garden flowers we will explore two ways of transferring plant images onto fabric before using stitches to enhance the prints.
