In the Loop – Dec 2017
Next week we are having a Christmas Celebration at Stoke Lodge.
Our Christmas Celebration takes place on Tuesday 12th December between 3.15pm to 5pm. Although don’t rush to be bang on time as we have a few classes finishing at 3, so we might still be making a few adjustments at the start!
This is an opportunity for learners, tutors, the team in the office and anyone who would like to pop in to get together, mark the end of term and wish each other a Merry Christmas. We will have refreshments on sale so you will be able to enjoy a glass of mulled wine (or a cup of tea) and a mince pie.
We are planning to sing a few carols (with live accompaniment) so warm up your voices on the way, as we are hoping everyone will join in. Should be a bit of a giggle and enthusiasm is much more important than perfect pitch!
Caroline from Big Sky Textiles will be selling a selection of handwoven scarves and wraps, knitted beanie hats and felt insoles. So if you still have a few presents left to get you might find the perfect thing.
Winter Weather
It’s lovely and bright here today at Stoke Lodge but just a reminder as we face a slightly chillier forecast. If we have any issues with access to the building or have to close for any reason we will post messages on our Facebook page, twitter and on our website.
Cystic Fibrosis Fundraiser
A couple of weeks ago we held a coffee morning here at Stoke Lodge in memory of one of our learners who sadly passed away recently. We were all very shocked and saddened to hear of her passing. In her memory we turned our tea break into a small fundraiser and raised a fantastic £185 which was donated to Above and Beyond the charity that supports the Cystic Fibrosis ward at Bristol Hospital. They were really grateful for the donation and send their thanks to all who took part and contributed.
