I began my creative journey completing an MFA in Creative Writing at Hong Kong University, where I explored the interplay between narrative and visual art. During this time, I wrote and directed a short film noir set against Hong Kong’s enigmatic backdrop – a project that deepened my appreciation for story telling through a cinematic lens. I lived in Hong Kong for nine years which sparked an interest in Asian art. I studied Mandarin at the Chinese University of Hong Kong giving me a greater understanding of Chinese culture and art.
Upon my return to the UK I completed an MA in Fine Art at Bath Spa University where I developed my creative practice working with a range of mediums including: installation, painting, acrylic sculpture, woodwork and film. My work is rooted in an interdisciplinary approach, blending traditional techniques with innovative storytelling.
I have taught Art and Design Technology and enjoy sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm for art with my students, fostering their ability to analyse and appreciate art on a deeper level. I aim to inspire a genuine curiosity and understanding of artistic expression, encouraging students to explore the cultural, historical, and aesthetic significance of art in all its forms.
