In The Loop – 4 Apr 2014
Adult and Community Learning ‘in the loop’
Issue 4 April 2014
Hello everyone and welcome to ‘in the loop’
Making sure that adult learning in Bristol continues to improve and grow.
You may have noticed we have started to make a few changes to the foyer at Stoke Lodge.
You told us you would like chairs with arms that were not quite so low down.
The new (and very stylish) chairs have arrived following a ‘chair trial’, and I am delighted to say we have had some very positive feedback, so far you are all finding them rather comfy!
We haven’t quite finished we are also planning to give the foyer a lick of paint to brighten it up.
Programme planning continues for the 2014/15 year and we are busy booking tutors, checking timetables and writing up course details ready for the course guide.
Of course we are still in ‘this year’ and we have lots of courses starting after Easter such as . . .
We are delighted to say we have a fantastic new tutor Jayne Butler who will be delivering Patchwork and Quilting classes both for beginners and improvers as well as for intermediate and advanced.
These courses start on the 23 April, beginners and improvers in the morning (10-12.30pm) and intermediate /advanced in the afternoon (1.00-3.30pm) at Stoke Lodge.
We also have some gardening courses starting soon. Choosing Plants for your Borders running 10.00-3.00pm for 3 Fridays (25 April, 9 &16 May) and Creative Hanging Baskets on Saturday 10 May 10.00-4.00pm
Over at St Pauls we have Yoga Classes staring after Easter on
- Tuesday evenings (6-7.30pm from 29 April) and
- Thursday mornings (10-11.30am from1 May)
If you want to get ‘hands on‘ creative you could try. . .
